Carmanah’s Solar LED Lighting Group recently supplied a number of its R247C pedestrian crossing beacons to the Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. These units were installed to increase safety for pedestrians crossing the busy access roads leading into the Hospital. This project represents Carmanah’s first installation of R247C pedestrian crossing beacons in Ireland.
Beaumont Hospital is one of the largest and busiest major general hospitals providing acute care on the north side of County Dublin providing 24/7 emergency-call service for its catchment area of 250,000 persons.
About the R247C Pedestrian Crossing Beacon
Carmanah’s R247C pedestrian crossing beacon is the most advanced 24-hour solar flasher available. The ultra-compact, self-contained assembly of the R247C includes the solar panel, battery, and electronics, all housed in a compact enclosure located above an industry-standard LED traffic signal head. The unit can be installed in minutes with minimal technical expertise onto existing signposts in the field.
The R247C utilizes Carmanah’s MICROSOURCE® core energy management system, a technology developed over 8 years and proven in more than 250,000 installations in 110 countries. Using this intelligence, the R247C automatically adjusts to prevailing solar conditions to ensure continuous, dependable operation for up to five years – even under difficult solar conditions such as those found in Dublin, Ireland.
Carmanah is a world leader in solar LED lighting technologies and has developed integrated systems for a wide range of commercial applications.
