Carmanah Provides Santiago, Chile with Compact Solar Flashing Beacons

Through its authorized Chilean dealer, Ferreteria, Carmanah’s Solar Roadway Lighting Group has recently installed several of its R247C solar-powered LED flashing beacons in the Santiago area. These flashers were installed on top of existing poles and warn motorists not to enter ramps on freeways.

These are the first Carmanah solar-powered beacons installed for roadway use in Chile. With the rising cost of power and trenching in South America, Carmanah’s solar power technology provides a cost-effective solution to keeping Santiago’s roadways safe. The R247C flashers operate independently using energy from the sun, require no maintenance and can be installed without any trenching or wiring.

Based on its low maintenance criteria, cost-effective installation and zero ongoing operating costs, Carmanah expects to see more orders from Chile and South America in 2007 for its compact solar flashing beacons for a variety of use, including for crosswalks, school zones, and 24-hour applications. More than 250,000 installations worldwide attest to the reliability and operational benefits of Carmanah’s products.
